Joaquin "Chapo" Guzman Loera may be extradited to a federal jurisdiction in Texas, according to another Mexican judge's ruling. If he is surrendered to Texas, he could be tried in El Paso or San Antonio.
This finding follows a previous ruling that he may be extradited to a California federal jurisdiction.
Guzman, reputed leader of the Sinaloa drug cartel, has indictments pending in Texas, California and other U.S. jurisdictions.
Authorities also confirmed that his wife, Emma Coronel, visited him at the Juarez federal prison a couple of days ago.
