International Women's Day: March 8 protest in Juarez

Hilda Gabriela Campos Rivas (in photo) is missing in Juarez. She was last seen Feb. 25 in the city's downtown.

Amigos de las Mujeres de Juarez (based in New Mexico) and others invite the interested public to a peaceful protest against the femicides in Mexico that began 15 years ago.

The protest will take place March 8, which is International Women’s Day.

"Fifteen Years of Assassinations, Impunity and Indolence Against Women" is a collaboration of numerous groups from Mexico and the United States.

The march will begin at 9 a.m. in Juarez.

Anyone on the U.S. side who is interested in showing solidarity should meet at the base of the Paso del Norte International Bridge (on the El Paso side) at 8:30 a.m., March 8 to walk over to Juarez.
